What is PWA (Progressive Web App)?

A PWA is a website that behaves like a native mobile app — installable on the home screen, works offline, sends push notifications. PWAs run in the browser but feel like real apps.

In detail

ZaikaQR is built as a PWA. The customer menu loads in under 2 seconds, can be installed on the home screen with one tap, and works even on weak networks because the menu is cached locally.

For restaurant owners, the owner dashboard is also a PWA — install it on your phone home screen and use it like a native app. No app store needed, no install size penalty, updates ship instantly.

PWAs are the modern alternative to building separate iOS and Android apps. Google strongly prefers PWAs for restaurants because they load fast and rank better in mobile search.

Why it matters for your restaurant

Understanding PWA (Progressive Web App) helps you evaluate restaurant software properly, talk to your tech vendors with confidence, and make better-informed pricing and operational decisions.
