What is GST on Restaurants?

GST (Goods and Services Tax) for restaurants in India is currently 5% (no input credit) for standalone restaurants, or 18% (with input credit) for those inside hotels with room rates above ₹7,500.

In detail

Most cafés, casual dine-in, and standalone restaurants in India pay 5% GST without input tax credit. This is added to the customer's bill on top of the food prices.

Hotel restaurants where the room tariff is above ₹7,500 charge 18% with input tax credit. Cloud kitchens delivering via aggregators follow the rate of the aggregator's category.

ZaikaQR adds the GST line automatically to every order, with the rate configurable per restaurant. KOTs and customer bills both show the GST breakdown clearly.
