What is Dine-in QR Ordering?

Dine-in QR ordering means customers seated in the restaurant order from their phones by scanning a QR code at the table, instead of waiting for a waiter to take their order.

In detail

Dine-in QR ordering shortens table turn time, reduces ordering errors, and frees up staff to focus on service rather than note-taking.

Customers scan the QR, browse the menu (often in their preferred language), tap items into a cart, and submit the order. The kitchen receives a KOT instantly. The customer pays via UPI from the same flow.

This is distinct from delivery QR ordering (where the customer is ordering for delivery to their home) — different UX, different logistics.

Why it matters for your restaurant

Understanding Dine-in QR Ordering helps you evaluate restaurant software properly, talk to your tech vendors with confidence, and make better-informed pricing and operational decisions.
