What is KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket)?

KOT stands for Kitchen Order Ticket — the printed slip that goes to the kitchen instructing the cooks what to prepare. Modern restaurant software prints KOTs on a thermal printer the moment a customer places an order.

In detail

A KOT is the bridge between the customer's order and the kitchen. Traditionally, a waiter wrote the KOT on a duplicate pad — one copy to the kitchen, one for billing.

With digital QR menus, KOTs are generated automatically. The customer taps Place Order, an 80mm thermal printer in the kitchen instantly prints a clear, formatted ticket with table number, items, quantities, modifiers, and special notes.

ZaikaQR supports KOT thermal printing out of the box. The printer connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, and KOTs auto-print without anyone touching the dashboard.
